Morning in Napier followed by a drive up to Lake Taupo. Great weather for it too.
However! Between the rain showers, we did manage a few hours of sun to walk up the Franz Josef glacier! Bloody beautiful up there.
It’s been a very wet couple of days, and we’ve covered a lot of kilometres in our JUCY Camper. Didn’t get so see much of Arthur’s Pass for the fog :-(
And here’s a quick snap of those sea lions we saw. Too scared to get any closer.
Here’s JUCY Lucy, approx. 19,250km from our home town!
Today we’ve driven 350km, seen Sea Lions at Waipapa point and arrived in Queenstown. What a great drive it’s been.
Time for dinner before the night creeps in and tonight, it’s a spot of freedom camping!
Jemma & Lucy at our first stop of the day, Rakaia Gorge.
Day one done! Driven around 120km, heading south from Christchurch down & spending our first night in Methven.
